Tips for a Busy Holiday Season

On the tail end of the Black Friday sales the Holiday Season is officially underway!  The glow of Christmas lights and the crinkle of wrapping paper will soon be all over the place.  Here are a few tips to help you through the Holidays without losing your mind or too much of your money.

  • Learn from Santa, make a list! Know what gifts you are going to buy for each person on your list. Don’t deviate from it. When you go shopping without a plan, you almost always spend more than you need to.
  • Don’t overuse credit for Holiday expenses. Not having to pay for December in January will enable you to save more money for next year or payoff other debts.
  • Know your situation. It’s ok to lower gift expectations a little during tough times. With careful planning we can be sure that our best days are still ahead of us!
  • Prioritize. Don’t feel like you have to participate in every single Christmas event or watch every single Christmas movie. Go to the events that will mean the most to you.
  • Have fun! Find times to remind yourself and others of the real reasons for celebrating.
